Guido goes to the Corgi nationals

Taking Guido down to be shown was our "excuse" to go to the national Pembroke Welsh Corgi dog show (Formally: the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America National Specialty). No, Guido didn't win, but we all had a great time visiting and seeing all the other dogs!

(Going to look at the videos below? See my notes on download times, and a couple of tips.)

Nationals

Our home-away-from-home. Note the watch dog in the window.

Guido's breeder's home-away-from-home for a week. (She brought around 9 dogs with her).

Dinner time!

The not-too-subtle hint...

The Reward!

Some of the folks from Corgi-L gather at the Savoi's RV.

While we were ringside, Betsy, a Cardigan puppy, meets an admirer.

Eunice (Vera's half-sister, who just had to come along), gets a little "face time".

Guido and his daughter, Gertrude. (She's one of Guido's Kids!).

Guido just looking handsome.

At the end of a long day ... taking the pack for a walk.

The tail-end of the "not-quite-a-victory" dance.

Showing Guido

Joyce and Ding, followed by Kay and Guido, take a practice turn around an imaginary ring.

In the ring, as well as out, Corgis are food motivated.

Guido shows his style (and ability to focus on food) for Kathi Gangi.

Vera, an old pro at this, shows that she's still got it too!

The entrant, after being prepped & groomed for the show, waiting to go in.

Guido, and around 70 other entrants compete for Best In Show.

Here's a video pan of the venue with the 70 contestants in the ring.

Our team lines-up. (Kay, with Guido, Kathi, with Jerome, and Joyce, with Ding).

The judge gets a look ...

Summer Frap

FRAP: Frantic & Random Acts of Play. The result of unleashing around 15 Corgwyn in the back yard.

The crowd begins to gather.

As always, the deck was a prime spot for Corgi attention. Of course, that's where the food was.

Did someone say food?

Albert gives Guido a little "face time".

Some needed that little bit of extra attention.

The deck wasn't the only activity spot.

Bobbing for popcorn. (Note Kathy holding back our two popcorn hogs.)

You're coming back from the bathroom, right?

Guido spent a little time in "jail".

The Cardigans showed up after everyone else left! Something about picking the kids up at school first? Priorities, people!

Stryker shows off his tail.

Nuff just shows off.

Nuff also shows off the "flying Corgi" position.

And our "honorary Corgi" for the day, Autumn.
